Weekly Drawing Assignments•
Drawing assignments should be done in the art sketch pad listed on the school supply list.
•The sketch pad should not be used for any other drawings other than the ones assigned at school.
•Students may complete assignments ahead of time to help avoid problems with too much homework, sporting events, or family time.
•The drawings should be in pencil unless otherwise stated.
•If a student likes the thrill of more complicated drawing assignments, he or she may tackle the Drawing Challenge assignments as extra credit.
•Students will be rewarded for completing the drawing assignments when due. If complications arise due to the need for studying for a test or for another reason such as a sporting event, drawing assignments may be turned in the next art class; however, the reward will only be given for drawing assignments turned in on time or early. If a student is absent due to illness, the drawing assignment may be turned in the next art class and still receive a reward.•Students need to sign and date all drawings.
•NO TRACING! I can tell when something has been traced, and you don't get the same drawing skills when you trace.•It's very important students remember the drawings DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT! There are many drawing styles, and with practice comes increased ability. It's the attempt and the attitude that's important. Students should not tear out pages from the sketch pad or start over repeatedly.
•Parents - feel free to try a hand at the drawing assignments yourselves. You never know how much you might enjoy it until you try

Why Are Staying Active and Eating Well So Important?
Because the results are amazing:
A healthy heart
Regular physical activity and a healthy diet can lower your blood pressure and cholesterol levels and can reduce the risk of illnesses such as type 2 diabetes or heart disease.
Strong bones
Exercise, combined with fat-free or low-fat dairy products and other foods rich in calcium, is necessary to build strong, healthy bones and can help slow the bone loss associated with getting older.
A sense of well-being
Being in good shape can give you more energy, reduce anxiety and depression, improve self-esteem, and help you better manage stress.A good social life
Staying active is a great way to have fun, make new friends, and spend quality time with family.
Looking and feeling better
You look better when you’re in shape and eating right. Staying active helps you tone muscles and improve your posture. Both moving more and eating healthy are important to maintaining a healthy weight.
