Dear Parents,
Your son / daughter has a Saint project due January 25 & February 8

Details:Students can pick the saint of their choosing to research based on their understanding of a Saint. With binder paper and pencil in hand, they were allowed 2-35 minute class sessions to do research on their saint. Their goal was to collect the four pieces of information requested below and try to find at least 3-5 other interesting pieces of information. Realizing that many saint web sites are at a higher reading level, students were reminded to put ideas into their own words (as they understood them).
The following sites were used for research; students were encouraged to view the sites in order. The first site was determined to be more grade level appropriate.

Advent begins this up coming Sunday at our all school mass @ 10:15am
Advent Reflection:
Pope John Paul II in his address on Dec. 18, 2002 said, "The liturgy of Advent…helps us to understand fully the value and meaning of the mystery of Christmas. It is not just about commemorating the historical event, which occurred some 2,000 years ago in a little village of Judea. Instead, it is necessary to understand that the whole of our life must be an ‘advent,’ a vigilant awaiting of the final coming of Christ. To predispose our mind to welcome the Lord who, as we say in the Creed, one day will come to judge the living and the dead, we must learn to recognize him as present in the events of daily life. Therefore, Advent is, so to speak, an intense training that directs us decisively toward him who already came, who will come, and who comes continuously."
